J.Marr (Seafoods) Ltd were awarded for the third time in succession The Queens Awards for Enterprise in the International Trade Category 2008.
Michael Moore together with Stefan Williams attended the awards ceremony at Buckingham Palace on 14th July 2008. The Queen, together with The Duke of Edinburgh and The Prime Minister Gordon Brown presented the awards.
Gordon Brown said "Queens Award winning companies are standard-bearers for the very best of British business. These firms embody the spirit of enterprise and innovation that is so vital to the future of Britain’s economy. Whether large or small, every one of this years winning organisations has achieved outstanding success in its field.

This award is a tremendous honour for J. Marr (Seafoods) and a milestone in our development as a world leader in the trading of Pelagic Fish species. During the period under review our traded volumes, sales, customer and supplier base all significantly increased.
Our J. Marr (Seafoods) business is underpinned by a team of highly skilled and dedicated professionals who are able to handle every aspect of the supply chain from beginning to end.
Teamwork has been an essential factor in the achievement of this and demonstrates the company and employee’s passion and commitment to developing international trade.
The companies strategy has been to focus on adding value to our relationships with supplies and customers alike and to measurably increase there satisfaction. Importantly this award also reflects the continuing loyalty of our major international suppliers and customers to whom we also have to say a big thank you.
A further presentation and a small celebration was made by the Lord Lieutenant at the J.Marr (Seafoods) Head office in Hessle.
