Young Enterprise (YE) is the UK's leading business and enterprise education charity that works with children and young adults, aged 4 onwards. Their mission is "to inspire and equip young people to learn and succeed through enterprise."
J Marr (Seafoods) Limited has continued to support the award for 'Innovation and Entrepreneurship' and further supported the Chiltern Primary School in Hull, through their 'Our World' programme. 'Our World' gives children the opportunity to explore the world and how far everyday items have to travel and why food is imported/esported; this helps to give them an understanding of what global trade means.
Certificates were presented to the Year 6 pupils for taking part in the Young Enterprise scheme.
The annual regional (Yorkshire & Humber) Young Enterprise awards for secondary school pupils took place on Wednesday 15 June 2011 at the Merchant Adventurers' hall in York. The JMSF sponsored award for Innovation and Entrepreneurship was presented to the winning team, Twopointzero from Bayside School in Gibraltar; their winning entry being customised USB flash drives for businesses.
The Managing Director for J Marr (Seafoods) Limited, Mr Michael Moore, is pictured presenting the award to James Victor, Managing Director for Twopointzero.
